Kerala Flood Relief
The devastating floods in Kerala caused havoc and displaced thousands of people from their families. Sangamithra Foundation collaborated with several groups and organizations in Kerala to help with relief efforts by providing food, medicines, cleaning kits, mattresses, and kitchen utensils for hundreds of families and individuals effected by Floods. Also, contributed toward rebuilding a library and purchase books that were distroyed in floods.
Smart Classroom for SNMGLP School
In keeping with our mission to support academic institutions in need, Sangamithra Foundation helped to set up an IT classroom in SNM Government Lower Primary School in Kerala. About 225 students attending this school can benefit from this IT classroom.
Medicines to Sukrutham Charitable Trust
Sukrutham Trust works with economically and educationally disadvantaged tribal communities in Wayanad District, Kerala by setting up free medical camps and providing vocational training programs. Sangamithra Foundation supported Sukrutham Trust by donating an inventory of medicines for their free medical camps.
Financial Aid for School Meals Program
The students of Vivekananda Residential Tribal School are children from impoverished tribal families who are fully dependent on the school to receive free nutritious meals along with quality education. Sangamithra Foundation is supporting the school by funding expenses associated with the cost of providing a month’s worth of nutritious meals every year.
Sangamithra Scholarship Program
Started a scholarship program for high school graduates in May 2013. This annual scholarship program is designed to motivate young adults to achieve their educational goals by providing financial support for higher education. The scholarship is given to high performing students from financially disadvantaged homes to help jump start their college education. The scholarship program has been implemented so far in five schools in Kerala, India.
Sangamithra Educational Aid Program
Established the Sangamithra Education Aid Program in May 2013. This program is designed to provide financial support for high performing college students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
